Mixed feelings
So election night was pretty great for the most part. I'm ecstatic about our new President Elect. But the passing of Prop 8 in CA, Prop 102 in AZ, Amendment 2 in FL, and Initiative 1 in Arkansas, makes me very f-cking angry. Who the f-ck are you assholes to tell me who I can and cannot marry? How on earth can you f-ckheads think it's ok to add discrimination into the State constitutions??? Hello? As far as I'm concerned anyone who voted for any of these can FO&DIAF.
I just gave $10 to Invalidate Prop 8. I hope they can challenge it in the courts so that things like this can be overturned everywhere.

Jail & Bail
I went to "Jail" today for the March of Dimes. I managed to raise $100!! My mom and I ate too much, but it was good.
In other news, I voted early last week. It was neat, no line, no hassle and all done. No worrying about getting to the place on time on the 4th. If you have the option I highly recommend it.

Arrr Matey
My pirate name is:
Iron Jenny Bonney
A pirate's life isn't easy; it takes a tough person. That's okay with you, though, since you a tough person. You can be a little bit unpredictable, but a pirate's life is far from full of certainties, so that fits in pretty well. Arr!

Pat Benatar Rocks!
I got to go see Pat Benatar tonight with my mom. It was soooo cool. My uncle got us free tickets because they got the keyboard from his piano store, Hachenberg & Sons Piano Co. It was a nice small theater at Desert Diamond Casino, but not cheesy. We had general admission but there were still first come first serve seats available so we sat on the aisle so we could see better. It was so nice because the other people around us stayed seated most of the time so we didn't have to stand to see. She played my favorite song, Invincible, but she introduced it as being from the worst movie ever made.. I love Legend of Billie Jean!!!!Come on! Young Christian Slater and Helen Slater, and it was so cute that he had a crush on her and thought how great it would be that she wouldn't have to change her name if they got married..CUTE! But yeah... When she was singing I turned to my mom and said , so this song is about this years election! The DNC should have played this instead of the random stuff they played. So they other fun thing was the people sitting behind us that were my mom's age totally thought I was 18-23. Hehe, they wouldn't believe I'm turning 29 on Wednesday. Which coincidentally is as long as Pat Benatar has been performing. Next year if they play around the same time, I'm gonna ask my uncle to try for back-stage passes!

been busy
So I've been up to a lot lately. You can see the day to day stuff on my Plurk widget there. I participated and completed my project for the Ravelympics!
I also just finished putting my website together. The sales will all be processed through Ravelry, but you don't need a Ravelry account to buy them. There are free and for sale patterns there.

I'm Alive!
No really, Im still here. I'm just lazy and havent bothered to update here. For the last month I've had pet sitting gigs everyday. One of them was in Vail so I wasnt getting home until 7pm on weekdays, so usually I'd get home eat and go to bed. It was scary for a bit because I would be so tired driving out there that I was afraid I'd fall asleep at the wheel. The last day of that service I was so tired that the whole way there I felt like I was in a Nightmare on Elm Street movie and I was slapping my face trying to stay awake. But I have a month free of services so now Im trying to rest up. I'm counting down the minutes to our Annual Tahoe trip. It will be my niece Vivian's 1st birthday on the 29th, so that will be fun.
The past few days have been hotter than hell, I think it's been worse because the humidity is rising. Monsoon season should be starting soon and Im not really looking forward to it. Yesterday was so hot I had to turn my computer off because it was making my room hotter. I'm hoping that Bob will be able to finish my room soon. Tho the biggest problem, the complete lack of insulation (well there is 1 inch), will have to wait till I have money again so I can pay for it. Once that is fixed I hope that will take care of the heat and noise problem up there.
In WoW news I got my warlock her Dreadsteed. The lovely people in the Ravelry guild helped me out a lot with it. I always heard what a pain getting that thing is but it really wasnt too bad. I would have liked to get more playtime in this weekend but the heat just wouldnt let me. Maybe someday I'll find a way to keep my computer from getting so damn hot.
Last week I started working on my website again. With Ravelry able to handle all the sales, I should be able to make it work easily. Hopefully I'll be able to have it up by the end of the week. If any of you are crocheters you can see 3 of my patterns in the newest Crochet Pattern a Day 2009 Calendar that should be out soon. My Octopus Cat toy is even on Halloween!

NATCROMO & Kitty Lovin Hookers CAL
So this month is National Crochet Month. There's been alot going on on Ravelry, there's even a party group set up just for it. I also started a CAL(Crochet A-Long) for my Kitty Lovin Hookers group that Im going to continue each month. We'll be making cat toys & cat beds to donate to a different charity each month. I even wrote up 2 new patterns for it. This "Chirp at the Birdie" cat toy:
And this "Kitties All Around" cat bed:
Im selling the pattern as a collection of these 2 and the Here Fishy Fishy pattern on Etsy and giving $2.00 per sale to the KLH charity of the month. I set it up on Ravelry and on Etsy last night and so far have 3 sales!!

Lovely bath goodies
I had noticed that one of the nice girls in the Completely Pointless and Arbitrary Group group on Ravelry had an Etsy store selling bath goodies, so last week I decided to treat myself. So I went on and bought some Lavender shower gel, Rose bubble bar, lavender bubble bar, Ginger Peach Bath Salts & Tropical Escape laundry soap. And she sent sample goodies of a Clove Bath Bomb & Red Currant & Thyme lotion. So last night after going out to a nice dinner with Mom & Bob, I relaxed in the tub with the Clove bath bomb and it was absolutely lovely. I smell like dessert now and my skin isnt as dried out like it has been because of the heater.
In the words of Ferris Bueller, It is sooo choice, if you have the means I highly recommend checking it out.

Crochet song
Ok, so this randomly came into my head last night before bed so I wrote up the whole lyrics with prompting from ProperTrappings from the CLF group on Ravelry.
To the tune of Salt n Pepa's "Push It"
Ah, hook it
Ah, hook it
Oooh, baby, baby
Baby, baby
Oooh, baby, baby
Baby, baby
Crochet up this!
Ow! baby!
CK and ProperT here!
[now wait a minute, yall
This thread aint for everybody
Only the crochet people
So all you fly hookers, get on out there and hook
Hook, I said!]
CK and ProperT here, and were in effect
Want you to hook it, babe
Coolin by day then at night hooking up a sweater
Cmon girls, lets go show the guys that we know
How to become number one in a hot CGOA show
Now hook it
Ah, hook it - hook it good
Ah, hook it - hook it real good
Ah, hook it - hook it good
Ah, hook it - h-hook it real good
Hey! ow!
Hook it good!
Oooh, baby, baby
Baby, baby
Oooh, baby, baby
Baby, baby
Hook it good
Hook it real good
Ah, hook it
Ah, hook it
Yo, yo, yo, yo, baby-paca
Yeah, bring that yarn here, gimme that twist,
Better make it fast or else Im gonna get pissed
Cant you see the yarn is loopin hard like I wish you would?
Now hook it
Hook it good
Hook it real good
Hook it good
H-hook it real good
Ah, hook it
Get up on this!
This yarn’s really got me going
It’s got me so I don’t know what stitch I’m doing
Ah, hook it

Is it bad that...
I was totally distracted by Hilary's turquoise jewelry on the debate tonight? I did listen to everything she and Barrack Obama said but I couldnt take my eyes off her jewelry. I loved it!! Not only is she intelligent, earnest and witty, but that girl can accessorize! This was an interesting debate. Since it was just her and Obama there wasnt any chance for ganging up on anyone. With the exception of the B word. But I think he deserves it. Im totally behind Hilary but I think if Barrack were to win it wouldnt be horrible. The only thing that worries me about that is Oprah gaining that much more power. I mean really, the woman is cool and all but she just is starting to give off that Evil Empire vibe. Her new network will be called OWN for crying out loud. Maybe it's the teenage rebel in me but I just never trusted anything that soooo many people followed blindly.

More Crochet
I finished my fingerless mitts for my CLF book submission. And now Im working on a pair of socks. I like them, I just did the heel last night and I'm not sure if I like it or not. I play a bit more and decide. Here is what they look like before I did the heel.
Ooh and yesterday I got a message on Ravelry asking for my permission to be featured in the next issue of Crochet Insider. They liked my Hollywood Starlet Purse.
I think it will have a pic and link on their gallery page. Hey every bit helps!

some crochet
So I've been working alot on my submission for the CLF book. I finished my prototype on Friday, so Saturday I decided to go to Kiwi Knitting to get some yarn to do the finished product in. I had bought a nice hank of Buckingham alpaca/silk blend at Purls last weekend but because I didnt have a scale at home I wasnt sure it would be enough. So I brought my prototype with me and they weighed it at Kiwi for me. Turns out I might have enough to do it with the alpaca/silk but I thought I'd look around and get 2 balls of something just to be safe, since Purls didnt have 2 hanks of that alpaca/silk in the color I liked. So I bout some Crystal Palace Panda Silk. It's very yummy and shiny. I got it in the "Jade Tones". When I got home and tried it out tho, I decided not to use it for this project because I thought the varigation didnt work with the cables. But I think I will do another similar project with them after. So instead I started using the alpaca/silk and it's going to be very nice. I cant wait till Im done.
And I checked out Crochet Me the other day and found this. It was so cute I had to make one.
Pepper liked him too, and kept trying to steal him and the yarn I used.

bad blogger
Looks like Ive been a bad blogger again. Well X-mas went ok. My Mom and Bob both had the consumption for X-mas. So I got to play the part of Mom while people visited. Yeah I dont want to be a mom I dont like playing one either. But it was ok, the food was good. I made these yummy Garlic Gratin Potatoes and made them again the other night. To die for.
Ive been spending most of my time on Ravelry. They got free downloads up and I added the linkies here for anyone who wants them. You dont have to be on Ravelry to access the downloads either. Soon I will be able to sell my patterns through Rav and it will be sooooo nice.
Work has been crazy. Now that the holidays are over we've got all these deals to work on and I've got a big pile of files on my desk.
and thats about the It.
